Elinore Maria Korow, Owner of Elinore Korow: Portraits, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Artists for dedication, achievements, and leadership in Fine Arts.
Since 1994, Ms. Korow has owned and operated Elinore Korow: Portraits in Akron and Shaker Heights in Ohio, where she is both artist and seasoned educator. She has also been an instructor with the Cleveland Institute of Art since 2007, and has been producing prize-winning pieces since studying art with Siena Heights College in her youth. Ms. Korow’s art has also charmed celebrants for decades of special occasions in the form of greeting card art.
Born in Akron to Alexander Vigh and Elizabeth Helen Vigh, Ms. Korow went on from Siena heights to study with the Cleveland Institute of Art, and was hired by the American Greetings Corporation in Cleveland, Ohio, as a staff artist in 1957. After working with the company for 13 years, Ms. Korow was appointed director with the greeting card company. In 1973, she became owner of the first Elinore Korow: Portraits studio in Shaker Heights, which she moved to back to Akron in 1994. Ms. Korow became a diplomate of the Sawyer College of Business in 1976, and later taught with the Cuyahoga Community College, which has also hosted many of her exhibitions. Since 2000, Ms. Korow has also served as director of special exhibitions of the Canton Museum of Art.
Over many years of fine arts exhibitions and talented students, Ms. Korow has contributed to numerous civic activities, and continues to contribute to the Cuyahoga Valley Art Center, and the Akron Society of Artists, the Womens Art League of Akron, Ohio. Her art has been collected by numerous prestigious private collections, and has been exhibited all over the country. Notably, she won First Place at the 2007 Hyatt Regency Show at the Cuyahoga Valley Art Center, and has received numerous first place and exhibition prizes. She is a charter member of the Ohio Watercolor Society, a member of the Portrait Society of America, and a frequent visitor to the Cuyahoga County Public Library, Orange branch. In her free time, Ms. Korow enjoys music and travel.
