Elmira Wilkey, Illustrator, Artist, Writer and Educator, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Artists for dedication, achievements, and leadership in writing, consulting and participating in various arts.
Ms. Wilkey founded the Studio Sans Serif Division of Bronte Press Ltd. in 1977 and has since worked ardently and passionately at the printing business. In addition, she is a co-owner of the business. Throughout her career, Ms. Wilkey has taught art, English, drama and put to use all of these skills in other areas of her career. She has instructed writing workshops and consulted for different publications such as Hoofbeats. In addition, Ms. Wilkey has supplied her creative lens as an art exhibit commentator for the Merchant Street Gallery and as an art presenter for the Kankakee Art League.
Ms. Wilkey’s dedication to the arts has been with her throughout her career. She graduated with a Bachelor of Arts cum laude from Loretto Heights College (now Regis University) in 1958. That same year she began working as a professional actor with the Summer Stock Theater and as an English/drama speech teacher with Kankakee School District 111. She has received such awards in her career as the Lucille Thies Personal Achievement Award from Manteno Historical Society and the Purchase Award from Kankakee Community College. She is also a 2017 recipient of the Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award.
