Linda F. Vaughn, Musician, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Artists for dedication, achievements, and leadership in the Piano and Organ.
Ms. Vaughn has been playing music since she took piano as a child, and since her mother enjoyed the organ, she took lessons from her high school band leader’s wife. In 2017, Ms. Vaughn became the organist for St. Peters United Church of Christ in Champagne, IL, and has been an organist with the Zion Lutheran Church in Philo, IL, since 2015. She has taken on other roles over her professional life, including crochet instructor and German Instructor with the Danville Area Community College.
Featured in numerous editions of Who’s Who in America, Who’s Who in the World, and Who’s Who of American Women, Ms. Vaughn started life in Morrison, Illinois, and attended Hope College to earn a BA and a MusB in 1974. She went on to complete a MusM one year later with the University of Illinois, where she earned a MA in 1979. Over the years, Ms. Vaughn has accrued a number of qualifications, including certifications as a teacher and life insurance producer in Illinois, as well as a certified crochet instructor of the Craft Yarn Council of America. She taught choir with the Urbana School District #116 from 1990 to 2015.
Ms. Vaughn has contributed many years of beautiful music to her local church community, starting as an organist and choir director of the First Baptist Church from 1984 to 1993. She has been a member and performer of the Evening Etude Mozart Music Club, and played organ with the Community United Church of Christ from 1993 to 2015. Ms. Vaughn also accompanied The Chorale in Champaign, IL, from 1994 to 2001. She is a member of the National Association for Music Education, and a lifetime member of the American Choral Directors Association, Delta Phi Alpha, and Delta Omicron.
