Lorraine C. Perkins, Artist, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Artists for dedication, achievements, and leadership in Art Design.
Ms. Perkins has loved art since her teacher complimented her on her statue faces when she was fourteen or fifteen. Her mother discouraged her from the profession, but Ms. Perkins’ love for art never went away, and has been a therapeutic activity for her. In 2001, she became an artist, creating original art and art designs for ArtOriginalsbyLori, her own brand. She was soon recognized in 2002 with an Article Award from the Women in the Arts & Media Coalition Inc. In 2003, a painting she did of fireworks appeared on the Reuters Time Square screen during New Year’s Eve.
A student of the Boston Art School, Ms. Perkins was a hostess at a local country club and an affiliate of the United States Postal Service before committing to art full-time. She is also a former member of the boards of directors of the John F. Kennedy Presidential Library and Museum Art Department and of Neighborhood Housing Services. Ms. Perkins has also lent her talents to interior decorating and home remodeling as a teacher.
