Ruth Ann Pfaffe-Snowden, Artist, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Artists for dedication, achievements, and leadership in art.

Ms. Pfaffe-Snowden is a prolific artist whose expertise is nationally renowned. Most recently serving as an adjunct professor in the department of fine art at Quincy University from 1991 to 2004, she has since delved into artistic expression on a full-time basis. Earlier in her career, she acted as a contemporary art seminar lecturer at Quincy University from 1983 to 2004.

Alongside her vocational endeavors, Ms. Pfaffe-Snowden held roles on multi-arts panels with the Illinois Arts Council in Chicago, IL, from 1986 to 1989, as well as a curator for Significant Architects in Quincy with Bell Telephone in 1986. Ms. Pfaffe-Snowden commenced her career by receiving a formal education, first receiving a Bachelor of Science in 1964 from Quincy University, later returning to her studies at the school to earn a Bachelor of Fine Arts in 1989. She subsequently earned a Master of Fine Arts from the University of Southern Illinois in 1991.

In addition, Ms. Pfaffe-Snowden has participated in a number of civic engagements, acting on the board of directors for Quincy Museum in 1984, preceded by her role as a longtime member of the board of directors of the Young Men’s Christian Association and Young Women’s Christian Association in Quincy, IL The chair of the exhibition committee and member of the advisory board of Quincy Art Center from 1995 to 1996, she was also the president of the same organization between 1984 and 1986.

An interviewee for “Quincy Women, 1838-1996,” Ms. Pfaffe-Snowden has had her artwork showcased in several exhibitions across the United States, including in the Biblical Arts Center in Dallas, TX, the Michael Stone Collection Gallery in Washington, DC, the Art and the Law at Kennedy Galleries in New York, NY, and Loyola Law School in Los Angeles, CA. She has additionally revealed her work in the Minnesota Museum of American Art, the State of Illinois Center, Oak Knoll in St. Louis, MO, and Overland Park in Kansas. She is the renowned artist of “Artists of Illinois” and “Visualizing Revelation.”

In recognition of her exceptional accomplishments, Ms. Pfaffe-Snowden has been selected for inclusion into several editions of Who’s Who in America, Who’s Who in American Education, Who’s Who in the World, and Who’s Who of American Women. Married to Howard L. Snowden with four children, three grandchildren and one great grandchild, she enjoys international travel and Bible study in her spare time.
