Didier Nolet, Artist, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Artists for dedication, achievements, and leadership in large scale visual art and 2D oil on canvas.
Mr. Nolet channels his deep love and passion for art and drawing in landscape and abstract work. He has been an artist for more than two decades, and received a Diplome Superieur d’Art Plastique from the Ecole Nationale Superieure des Beaux-Arts in 1980. Upon moving to Chicago, he started developing large scale imaginary landscape paintings that started as a blending of his child memories and have transitioned into speaking on his state of mind. In his art Mr. Nolet has experimented with different canvases, including large square, circular and even six foot teardrop shaped canvases. This extension into his art has allowed him to rethink composition and how he connects with the subjects of his art.
There are certain factors that Mr. Nolet points out have aided in his success. Adept at communicating with art dealers, Mr. Nolet has also put in a lot of hard work. Mr. Nolet believes that as an artist, you need exposure and that art cannot just be kept in a studio. Upon presenting the world with his art, he has been recognized on a number of occasions. In 1990, he received the Edward and Eleanor DeWitt Prize for “The Chicago Show.” In 1987, he received a Juror’s Award for “Watercolor USA,” through the Springfield Art Museum. In addition, he has been recognized by the North Shore Art League, the Art Institute of Chicago and the Illinois Arts Council.
Looking toward the future, Mr. Nolet endeavors to connect his work with more audiences by meeting with more dealers. He hopes to have his work featured in more museum shows. In addition, to his work as an artist, he has been an art instructor for the Oak Park Art League and the Evanston Art Center since 2008. He has been an instructor at the Old Town Art Center since 2005 and the Art Center since 2004. Furthermore, he has been a private instructor since 1993. His work has been exhibited in a number of one-man shows, group shows, private collections and books.
