Carla Carli Mazzucato, Artist, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Artists for dedication, achievements, and leadership in fine art.
Growing up in northern Italy, Ms. Mazzucato was constantly surrounded by beauty. Her dad, a musician, frequently took her on nature walks, and her mother and sister were involved with a number of creative endeavors. Ms. Mazzucato wanted to contribute her own work to the field, so she attended the Cà Foscari Academy in Venice and the Università Cattolica in Milan. She moved to the U.S. with her husband in 1962, and began to focus on art fulltime. Her first exhibition, comprised of paintings of her childhood memories of Italy, was in Michigan in 1969. Since then, Ms. Mazzucato has participated in a wide array of shows and has earned international acclaim. Her work has been described as “dynamic,” “graceful,” and “timeless,” and combines bold colors with a unique, modern expressionist style that sets her apart from her peers. Ms. Mazzucato’s most recent show was at The Clare Gallery in Connecticut in 2013, preceded by La Bottega Dell’Acquaforte in California in 2010, the Bowers Museum of Cultural Art in California in 2006, and the Montserrat Gallery in New York in 1998, among many others. Notably, she is featured in numerous collections in Europe, North America, and Asia, including the Appiano Art Museum Collection in Italy, the Catholic Archdiocese Collection of the Church Corpus Domini in Italy, and the Opera Theatre Collection at the Detroit Opera House in the U.S.
Besides painting, Ms. Mazzucato is involved in the fine arts world as a sculptor, printmaker, and writer. She authored “America-Celebration” in 2011, “Heimkehr-Homecoming” in 2001,” “New Horizons” in 1994, and “Paintings and Poems” in 1988. Additionally, she was the director and owner of the Alpha Art Gallery, a docent with the Detroit Institute of the Arts, and a trustee of the Downriver Council of the Arts. Ms. Mazzucato strongly believes that happiness is a decision, and that art has the ability to create a feeling of goodness and knowing. She is thrilled to have traveled down a path that allows her to do what she loves. To enhance her professional standing, she earned a Bachelor of Arts and a Master of Fine Arts from Wayne State University in 1985 and 1983, respectively.
