Judi Foster, Artist and Interior Designer in a Private Practice, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Artists for dedication, achievements, and leadership in art and interior design.
Working in private practice for nearly 40 years, Ms. Foster is an eminent and distinguished artist and interior designer whose work has captivated the eyes of young and old alike. Using contemporary abstraction to represent realism, she uses her paintings to express her personality and reflect her perceptions on life. Projecting the spirit of the American Southwest, she takes advantage of bold colors to create texture and signify space. She hopes that she will connect to the viewer on an emotional plane by expressing her true intentions and thoughts onto the canvas.
Ms. Foster received a Bachelor of Science Degree, with Honors, from the University of Connecticut in 1959. The focus of that was Business and Design (Fine Art and Advertising). The following year, she took additional coursework in Home Economics at the University of New Mexico as background for her Amana microwave, Roper gas appliances and Corning smooth top glass counter Cooking Classes. She has earned a signature membership with several organizations throughout her illustrious career, including the Society of Layerists in Multi-Media, the New Mexico Art League, the Taos National Society of Watercolorists, and the New Mexico Watercolor Society.
Since the inception of MasterWorks of New Mexico, Ms. Foster has served on the Steering Committee/Board, with 2019 being the 21st year. Ms. Foster’s painting “Cactus Stickers” was featured on the cover of the 25th Anniversary edition of the New Mexico Women in Business Directory. In addition, she has been highlighted in several editions of Who’s Who in America, Who’s Who in the World and Who’s Who of American Women. In 2018, she was presented with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award.
