Jeane Kathryn McGrail, Artist, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Artists for dedication, achievements, and leadership in digital photography.

A noted pioneer in contemporary digital art, Ms. McGrail is an esteemed photographer whose photographs replicate the natural beauty and serenity of nature, particularly the St. Croix River of Wisconsin, where she grew up as a child. Receiving a Bachelor of Science from the University of Wisconsin-River Falls and a Master of Fine Arts from Cranbrook Academy of Arts, she also completed additional coursework at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago many years later. A frequent educator, adjunct faculty member and online specialist for the duration of her career, she is most renowned for her unique photographs, which converge documentary photographs with surreal graphic twists. An avid environmentalist, most of her work deals with issues pertaining to the earth, such as climate change.

Exhibiting her artwork across the nation and abroad, Ms. McGrail’s environmental projects reflect one another in their message and values, with such works including the “Convergence Series,” “Reflections Series” and “Artic Vortex Series” as part of “River Project: Origins, Movement, Confluence.” In addition, her work “Oblivious: Sunday Stroll by South Pond” is an eccentric departure from her existing landscapes, the digital enhancement and addition of metaphysical and fantasy elements serving as a metaphor for the global collective dread.

Ms. McGrail’s artwork has been displayed in shows at the Charlotte Printmaker’s Society Exhibition, the Chautauqua Center for the Visual Arts, the Los Angeles Center for Digital Arts, Cheryl Pelavin Fine Arts LLC, the Chuck Levitan Gallery, the Edward Hooper House Art Center, the Galeria L’Etang d’Art, the Adogi Taller Galleria Fort, and the Ukrainian Institute of Modern Art, among many other galleries. As a testament to her success, she was featured in Who’s Who in America, Who’s Who in the Midwest, Who’s Who of American Women and Who’s Who in the World. Looking toward the future, she intends to create more art and see it being placed in collections and galleries.
