George Fish, Writer and Poet, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Artists for dedication, achievements, and leadership in writing.
Growing up, Mr. Fish was always an avid reader. At an early age, he was impressed by the written word and decided to pursue a career in which he contributed to society in this manner. Despite getting off to a late start, he became a regular freelance writer at several publications and found a ready market for his writing. He earned an AB in economics from Indiana University in 1977 and also became certified in Chinese and a certified paralegal. He has been a freelance writer since 1981, as well as a paralegal, legal writer and researcher since 1988. The highlight of Mr. Fish’s career was being published in a print capital magazine with a short story called “Prom Night.” Being included in this publication felt like a validation for him and he became even more determine to seriously pursue writing as a career.
Mr. Fish’s works have been included in a variety of publications and journals. His work has appeared among the pages of “The Guardian,” “In These Times,” “Monthly Revised,” “Living Blues,” “Blues Access,” “Skeptical Inquirer,” “NUVO,” “Bloomington Voice,” “Socialism and Democracy” “Science and Society,” “New Politics,” “Against the Current,” “Flying Island Journal” and “Tipton Poetry Journal.” In addition, he has published more than 21 poems. Mr. Fish was also extensively mentioned in Kenneth Heinemann’s “Campus Wars” published by New York University Press in 1983.
In addition to this work, Mr. Fish enjoys performing Lenny Bruce/George Carlin-inspired stand-up comedy. He maintains professional affiliation with the Blues Society of Indiana, the Democratic Socialists of America, the Committees of Correspondence on Socialism and Democracy, the Central Indiana Socialist Coalition and Freedom From Religion Foundation. In the coming years, he endeavors to continue writing.
