Anne Heywood, Artist at South Shore Art Center and Art Educator and Owner at Artwork by A.Heywood, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Artists for dedication, achievements, and leadership in arts.
With decades of professional experience, Ms. Heywood has shared her art and expertise with the world in a multitude of ways. Currently, she works as an art educator specializing in pastels at the South Shore Art Center in Cohasset, MA and as pastel instructor at Artwork by AHeywood in Waldoboro, ME. Ms. Heywood previously taught as a workshop instructor for Northwest Pastel Society in Gig Harbor, WA, Spring Island, SC, and Hilton Head, SC and as a drawing art educator for both the Round Top Center for the Arts in Damariscotta, ME, and for the Swinburne School in Newport, RI. Furthermore, Ms. Heywood was a pastels art educator and instructor and founder of the Pastel Painters Society of Cape Cod. In order to prepare for these endeavors, Ms. Heywood earned a Bachelor of Arts in art from Bridgewater College and graduated summa cum laude. She is grateful for the opportunities she has found throughout the course of her career and plans on following a course of continued professional growth where she will paint, write another book and improve as an artist.
A respected voice in her field, Ms. Heywood has been an active leader in her community and has produced a great amount of artwork. She authored/illustrated “Pastels Made Easy” (Watson-Guptill, NYC, 2003) and served as a contributing artist for works such as “Best of Pastel” in 1996, “Landscape Inspirations” in 1997 and “Best of Sketching and Drawing” in 1999. In 2006 she served as juror for the Pastel Society of Australia’s Web Exhibition. Ms. Heywood has championed one-woman shows that have taken place at the Massachusetts Audubon Society, the Marion (MA) Art Center, and the Fuller Art Museum, among others. Her group shows have taken place at the Duxbury Art Association of Massachusetts, the Zullo Gallery in Medfield, MA, the Salmagundi Club in New York, the Pastel Society of the West Coast and the Attleboro Museum Center for the Arts. Ms. Heywood has contributed her work to private collections and has contributed articles to professional journals. In recognition of her talent, she was invited as Guest Artist to the 2nd Biennial International Pastel Exhibition in Suzhou, China, and received both Eminent Pastel Designation from the International Association of Pastel Societies in 2015 and the Dr. Adrian Tinsley Award for Achievement in the Arts from Bridgewater State University (MA) in 2012, among many other honors. As a testament to her success, Ms. Heywood has been featured in multiple editions of Who’s Who in America, Who’s Who in American Education, Who’s Who in the East, Who’s Who in the World and Who’s Who of American Women.
