Driven by a passion for art that began in childhood, Mrs. Fortunato is regarded by her colleagues and industry peers as unique and one-of-a-kind. In her career, she has had accomplishments that have spanned several areas in the art world. She has worked in academia, exhibited her art, and authored several texts. Her area of expertise is in watercolor. Mrs. Fortunato has received many accolades for her work including distinctions from the Pennsylvania Watercolor Society, the Transparent Watercolor Society, Grand Paint American, the Western Federation Watercolor Society, the Arizona Watercolor Society, the Texas Watercolor Society and Academic Artists of America.
Mrs. Fortunato is the author of many artistic texts, including the titles “So You Want to be an Artist?” “Watercolor Tips” “The 50th Anniversary edition of the Artistic Touch Book by the Texas Watercolor Society,” “How to Capture Movement,” “Artists of the Renown,” Splash 11,” “Splash 12,” “Splash 14” and five volumes of “Coffee Book for Thinkers.” Over the course of her career, she has also been an art instructor at all levels. She concluded her career as the president of the Midwest Watercolor Society and the International Society of Marine Painters. As she looks to the future, she intends to enjoy her retirement by doing what she has always done—creating more art.
