Emily A. Reed, Photographer and Artist, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Artists for dedication, achievements, and leadership in art.
Dr. Reed earned a Bachelor of Arts from Marquette University in 1963. She went on to earn a Master of Public Administration from the University of Hartford in 1978, and later earned a PhD from the University of Massachusetts. After a rich, extensive career as a criminal justice analyst and educator, working for various institutions of higher education, Dr. Reed retired in 2001, and has found great success as an artist. She works with watercolors, oils, pastels, and also excels at artistic photography. Her work as an artist has been recognized by multiple publications and journals.
Among her multitude of published pieces, Dr. Reed’s photographs have been featured over 400 times in the Wilmington News Journal since 2011. In 2017, in the same journal, she also published an article about panorama photography. Her works have been featured in numerous solo and group exhibits over the last decade, and many of her photographs have been used in the annual calendars for PNC Financial Services Group Ltd., from 2009 to 2018. She is an active member of the artistic community, and maintains a membership with the Gibby Center for the Arts and The Newark Arts Alliance. In addition, she is a member of the board of directors for the Center for the Creative Arts in her home state of Delaware. As a testament to her body of work, achievements, and success, Dr. Reed was a featured listee in the 24th edition of Who’s Who in the East.
