Title: Clinical Psychologist, Artist
Location: Anchorage, Alaska, United States
Gay Galleher has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Artists for dedication, achievements, and leadership in art.
“I am inspired daily by the ocean, granite rocks, coves, marshes, and my gardens. I am drawn to the sensuous organic forms of fruits, vegetables, and flowers in the gardens. I love the colors of sea, sand, and sky, both in interior design and in my paintings and pastels,” says Dr. Galleher, who has been creating beautiful pieces of artwork over the last four decades. “It is deeply satisfying to capture a moment, a season, a memory or a wish,” she continues, adding that creativity is a leap of faith that allows her to let go, merge with the beauty around her and join a process in which something new emerges. As an artist, Dr. Galleher has worked with many different types of mediums including oil painting, pastels and watercolor. Her works of art include landscapes, still life and floral arrangements as depicted through works including “Love is in the Air,” “First Spring,” and “Daisies in the Moonlight,” respectively. She paints scenes from around the world in pieces like “Traveling from Keui,” and “Travels in France, Woven Poppies.” Just as beautiful and inspiring are paintings closer to home and close to Dr. Galleher’s heart. “From My House to Yours” is a watercolor painting of her home, which was built in 1760 in West Bath, Maine, and demonstrates classic Northeastern style and charm.
Today, Dr. Galleher focuses her work on watercolor, with many of her recent concepts focused on her garden, land and inspirations from changing seasons. More than 50 paintings of hers are available for purchase through Xanadu Gallery located in Scottsdale, Arizona. Xanadu Gallery is a resource for collectors, designers, builders, and corporations for procuring the highest quality art located in one of the hottest art markets in the country. With a wide offering of media and styles, the gallery utilizes a comprehensive website so that people around the country can procure art from their own homes.
In addition to her work as an artist, Dr. Galleher has dedicated many years to her full-time profession as a clinical psychologist. She is board certified and licensed in the state of Maine and she is distinguished as a diplomate in clinical psychology by the American Board of Professional Psychology. She mainly works in private practice; however, she previously found success for several years as a civilian contract clinical psychologist for the US Air Force in Lakenheath, England, and Baumholder, Germany. She is a member of the American Board of Professional Psychology, the National Register of Health Service Providers, and the San Francisco Psychotherapy Research Group.
