Jane R. Hofstetter, NWS, Artist, Educator and Author, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Artists for dedication, achievements, and leadership in painting and watercolor.
Since Ms. Hofstetter was a child she has always painted, and her talents were recognized upon receiving scholarship to design school. She worked in Shenard and learned a lot about what pleases the eye. This helped her in her career. Ms. Hofstetter honed her craft by taking coursework at the University of California Berkeley, the San Francisco School of Design and the Chouinard Art Institute. From there, she has had her artwork on display in permanent collections at the Triton Museum of Art, in the State of California Collection, in San Ramon and Santa Clara City Halls, in Kayser Hospital and in the IBM Holdings and General Facilities, among numerous others. Ms. Hofstetter is also the author of “Seven Keys to Great Paintings,” published in 2005.
As a testament to her success, Ms. Hofstetter has received myriad accolades including but not limited to, the Triton Art Museum Award and the International Award from the National Watercolor Society in 2017. She has been inducted as a signature member of the National Watercolor Society, the Watercolor West Society, the National Transparent Watercolor Society of America and the Society of Western Artists. She is also a member of Watercolor Missouri, Georgia Watercolor and Texas Watercolor. She still enjoys judging shows and guest lecturing. Ms. Hofstetter is currently only teaching advanced painters in a master class at the Triton Art Museum.
