Judith Rawie-Rook, Founder and President at R2 Group, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Artist for dedication, achievements, and leadership in the field of production.
Upon graduating from George Washington High School in Alexandria, Virginia, Ms. Rawie-Rook earned a Bachelor of Business Administration from Loyola Marymount University in 1964. Soon thereafter, she began her career as an international market researcher at Smith, Kline & French from 1964 to 1966. After taking a five-year break, she accepted a position at the Environmental Forum as a syndicated columnist, between 1971 and 1974, later completing postgraduate work at the University of California in Irvine in 1976. Moreover, Ms. Rawie-Rook took postgraduate courses in visual arts and communications at the University of California San Diego in 1978. She went on to become the director of video at the International Association of Business Communicators in 1982, later working as the director of programming at Westinghouse Cable until her departure in 1985.
As she progressed through her profession, Ms. Rawie-Rook served as manager of development at Embassy/Nelson Home Entertainment from 1985 to 1987, further becoming a partner at Real Magic for two years. During which time she garnered co-sponsorships for projects including “The Last Emperor,” and “Beetle Juice,” later contributing as a producer, writer and partner at BrantHol Productions, from 1990 to 1993. She has since been the founder and president of the R2 Group. A longtime member of the International Documentary Association, she maintains affiliation with the American Film Institute, the California Jazz Foundation, the Library Foundation of Los Angeles, and the National Women’s History Museum. For her accomplishments in the field, she has been the recipient of an Emmy Award in 1986, was nominated for several accolades including an ACE Award. An exceptional Marquis listee, Ms. Rawie-Rook has been presented the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award and was selected for inclusion in editions of Who’s Who in America, Who’s Who in Finance and Industry, Who’s Who in the West, Who’s Who in the World, Who’s Who in Entertainment, and Who’s Who of American Women.
