Somers Randolph, Sculptor, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Artists for dedication, achievements, and leadership in stone sculpting.
Since he was a young child, Mr. Randolph has been fascinated with carving things using a sharp pocket knife. It was one of his earliest forms of pursuing art. Upon the completion of his studies at Phillips Exeter Academy, he went on to complete coursework at Corcoran School of the Arts & Design in Washington, D.C. Soon thereafter, he received a Bachelor of Arts in art history from Princeton University in 1979 and relocated to Santa Barbara, California, where he began his journey as a stone sculptor. Mr. Randolph befriended stone carvers and later Paul Lindhard, who was a taught a Bronze class at Santa Barbara City College.
After briefly serving as an instructor, he decided to sculpt full time. Mr. Randolph’s sculptures were featured in a number of exhibitions throughout the United States including the Nasher Sculpture Center, the San Francisco Museum of Art, the La Quinta Arts Festival, Patricia Owens Gallery, Nashville International Airport, and the Art Expo International Los Angeles, among others. He has also been contracted for private collections at Grubb & Ellis, Princeton University, and Mitsubishi Corp., among other locations. Achievements to his credit include selling sculptures to Princess Constance du Polignac and actress, Nicole Kidman. Mr. Randolph was the owner of an award-winning line of jewelry, that amassed over $5 million in sales between 2000 and 2015. For his accomplishments in the field, he has been the recipient of the Governor’s Award for Community Services from the State of California and was honored as a man of distinction by the Silver Institute.
