Pamela Brandt, Art Teacher at Hartford Joint No. 1 School District, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Artists for dedication, achievements, and leadership in education.
With 35 years of professional experience, Ms. Brandt has been an art and art special education teacher with Hartford Joint No. 1 School District since 1984. She was inspired to pursue a career in the field, by her work with the Girl Scouts special needs groups, and she was impressed by her own art teacher. She was also discouraged in high school from pursuing a career in education, but after doing her research she found the art therapy world, and was hired at her own school, where she has taught for 35 years.
Ms. Brandt first pursued an education with Alverno College, where she obtained a Bachelor of Arts in 1984. She continued her studies with National Louis University earning a Master of Science in education in 2010. She is certified as an art and art special education teacher by the Department of Public Instruction. Throughout her career, Ms. Brandt has been recognized for her contributions. The recipient of the Arrowhead Honor Award from the Boy Scouts of America, she was also given the Scouters Key and the Scouters Training Award. She is an Herb Kohl Fellow.
