Paula Towne, Artist at Trinkets Art Gallery, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Artists for dedication, achievements, and leadership.
Ms. Towne was attracted to her profession from her pure passion for art and has been drawing and making art since she was three-and-a-half years old. The impulse to create never really left her and even in college, she did portraits of fellow students for two dollars a piece, making what could translate to over $400 today. Ms. Towne pursued an education in advertising design and production diploma at the International High School in New York, earning an associates degree in 1966. She completed additional study at the State University of New York, Potsdam, and earned a degree in advertising design and production from Mohawk Valley Community College.
Currently, Ms. Towne is the co-owner and operator of Trinkets Art Gallery, which serves as a studio, gallery, museum, and art school. She also serves as a private tutor and guest speaker in the field. Recently, Ms. Towne was commissioned to design a logo for a local bourbon brewery and her wide variety of work has been exhibited in Kinney Drugs, Incorporated, the Newton Falls Paper Mill, the Frederick Remington Museum, the E.J. Noble Community Hospitals, and the Gouverneur Public Library. In recognition of her talent, she has received the Gertrude Folgeson Award, a Western New York Art Award, an Adirondak Regional Art Show Award, a North Country Juried Artists Show Award, and eight awards from the Western New York Scholastic Art Show at the Museum of Modern Art. Furthermore, Ms. Towne has been featured in the 20th and 21st editions of Who’s Who of American Women.
