Chris Opp, Owner and Operator at The Artistic Shark, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Artists for dedication, achievements, and leadership in the fields of painting, construction, and design.
Mr. Opp started as the co-owner and operator of Vantage Creations in 1973, where he worked until 1975. He started as the owner and operator of Chris Opp Art and Construction, and earned Construction and Teaching Techniques Lifetime Teaching Credentials in Fine Arts, Design, and Photography from the University of California Los Angeles in 1985. He worked as an instructor of fine art, signage, airbrushing, and photography at Golden West College until 1988, and continued to work at Opp Art Inc., which became The Artistic Shark in 2018. He continues to work as the owner and operator at The Artistic Shark, and has worked as a part of the Children’s Miracle Network since 2018.
Since 1975, Mr. Opp has worked as a carpenter, and before that, he printed t-shirts and brushed murals on motorcycles and cars. He started working with restaurants and has worked on more than 300 restaurants across the United States, eventually branching out to working on casinos and local projects. He worked on custom paint jobs for race cars and a truck for Burt Reynolds and Hal Needham in 1974, and painted graphics and signage on a 240,000 square foot building in San Pedro Harbor, California. Over the course of his career, Mr. Opp has worked on murals and graphics for the Main Street Mall in Santa Ana, California, a water tower for the Los Alamos National Laboratory, and even the Empire State Building in New York City. He is an active member of his community and has volunteered at the Pride Academy and Samaritan’s Purse, in addition to mentoring high school seniors with their senior art projects. He is dedicated to giving back, beautifying communities across the country, and sharing his artistic gift with the world.
