Location: Cheyenne, Wyoming, United States of America
Dennis Madigan, theater director, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Artists for dedication, achievements, and leadership as a director and visual artist.
Inspired by his grandmother, who was an artist, Mr. Madigan decided to pursue a career in visual arts himself. During his pursuits, he discovered a love for the theater arts and realized the potential of the theater as a venue to uniquely blend media. Since then, he has strived to make theater the primary focus of his life. Prior to his career in the arts, Mr. Madigan served in the United States Army. While serving, he pursued an education at the University of Wyoming, earning a Bachelor of Science in 1975 and a Master of Arts in 1981. Notably, Mr. Madigan rose to the rank of lieutenant colonel in the U.S. Army during his service from 1976 to 1978, and afterward, he served in the U.S. National Guard for 20 years, from 1978 to 1998. In 1993, he graduated with PhD from the University of Colorado. He views his service in the military as a highlight in his career.
Following his service in the U.S. Army, Mr. Madigan began his professional career as an artistic director at Old Fashioned Melodrama from 1979 to 1984. Within that time, he also worked as an instructor of theater arts at Laramie County Community College, and a technical director at Cheyenne Civic Center until 2015. He has a number of creative endeavors to his credit, including serving as a director and playwright at Horse Barn Dinner Theatre, working as a scenic and lighting designer, and being a contributor of articles to Theatre Crafts and Theatre Design and Tech. In further recognition of his accomplishments, Mr. Madigan has been featured in the fourth edition of Who’s Who of Emerging Leaders in America and multiple editions of Who’s Who in Entertainment.
