Margarita Deleuze, Freelance Artist, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Artists for dedication, achievements, and leadership in paintings.
At an early age, Ms. Deleuze was exposed to art through her grandfather, who was an art collector. Eventually, she discovered her talent for drawing and painting and began selling her artwork to finance her hobby of horseback riding. From there, she started drawing horses and selling sketches to upkeep her horse and that led her into the whole art circuit.
Soon thereafter, Ms. Deleuze relocated to the United States, where her artistry transformed much from her humble beginnings. She attended Bennett College in New York and earned an Associates of Applied Sciences in 1962. Originally working with charcoal, she progressed to oil to develop tropical landscapes, horses, fruit and various other vibrant, realistic objects on a linen backdrop. Those paintings were later exhibited in solo and group exhibitions in museums, galleries and art expos throughout the United States and abroad, including in the Florida Museum of Hispanic and Latin American Art in Miami and the San Francisco Museum of Contemporary Hispanic Art. Ms. Deleuze’s artwork has also been featured in major exhibitions, as well as in private collections across the United States, Europe and Latin America.
In an effort to remain aware of developments in her field, Ms. Deleuze is a member of the National Museum of Women in Arts. She also maintained active involvement with the World Wildlife Fund, the National Audubon Society, the Humane Society of Broward County and the Defenders of Wildlife. Awards to her credit include the Premio Nostros Award from The Association of Latino Superintendents and Administrators, the San Francisco Museum Contemporary Hispanic Art Award, and an Artistic Achievement Award from the Five Part National Juried Competition Artscape in Naples, Florida. A celebrated Marquis listee, Ms. Deleuze has been featured in multiple editions of Who’s Who in America, Who’s Who in the World and Who’s Who of American Women.
