Linda McCune, an Artist, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Artists for dedication, achievements, and leadership in the field of art.
Throughout the course of her career, Ms. McCune worked fiercely to advance her grasp on art. Since concluding her academic efforts with a Master of Fine Arts from the University of South Carolina in 1982, where she excelled as a teaching assistant, Ms. McCune assumed the position of director the Summer Art Series for Youth in Tryon, North Carolina, from 1987 until 1989. She additionally spent time as an artist-in-residence for the Tennessee and South Carolina Arts Commissions.
As an artist, Ms. McCune’s expertise is in sculpting and drawing. Her work has appeared in several venues including the South Carolina State Art Collection, the Columbia Museum of Art, Bank of America Collection, the Hunter Museum of American Art and the Asheville Art Museum, and the American University of Paris. In addition to those collections, her creations have been featured in numerous publications throughout the American South, including the Atlanta Art Papers and the Artists and Critics Forum.
Having a profound impact on the public, Ms. McCune’s work has been the subject of journal articles presented at Emory University’s Southern Experiment, the Southeastern College Art Association, and the American Cultural Society. Garnering a laudable reputation for the breadth and depth of her talent, Ms. McCune was bestowed with a grant for European exhibitions by the Metropolitan Arts Council, for excellence in the arts and humanities by Elon University, and for artistic excellence by South Carolina’s State Artist Fellowship. She was additionally recognized as one of the most influential artists of the past 100 years by the South Carolina State Arts Commission.
