Shirley A. Schrank, artist, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Artists for dedication, achievements and leadership in sculpting.
With 65 years of professional experience, Ms. Schrank has been an artist and sculptor since 1967. Prior to obtaining her current roles, she retired from the Samuel Merritt Hospital School of Nursing in 1967, having been an instructor since 1963, and was a nurse at Presbyterian Medical Center Etal SF Hospital in 1962. She was previously a staff nurse of eye surgery at the Children’s Hospital of San Francisco in 1961 and an instructor of pediatric nursing with Genesee Hospital from 1960 to 1961. Earlier in her career, Ms. Schrank was a team leader of medicine at the University of Rochester from 1956 to 1960, having been a staff nurse of psychiatry since 1954.
Ms. Schrank first pursued an education at the University of Rochester, obtained a degree in nursing in 1954 and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 1960. She continued her studies with the school, earning a Master of Science in nursing education in 1961. A respected voice in her community, Ms. Schrank has been affiliated with a number of professional organizations. She is a member of the California Watercolor Association, the La Junta Artists Association and the San Francisco Women Artists. She has also been active with East Bay Women Artists and the Blackhawk Gallery.
