Li-Chan Chen-Maxham, Voice Teacher, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Artists for dedication, achievements, and leadership in vocal education.
A leading expert in the field of music, Ms. Chen-Maxham is a voice teacher for classical vocal training. In addition to her primary role, she has been a classical vocal performer and choral director, and she has performed in more than 20 leading soprano roles in operas in the U.S., Europe, and her home country, Taiwan. A former teaching artist for the Chinese Christian Church Music Institute of Worship, she has served as adjunct music faculty for Rutgers University. She is the co-founder and co-director of Joy of Singing, LLC., and a member of the National Association of Teachers of Singing and the National Music Teachers Association.
Ms. Chen-Maxham first pursued an education with National Taiwan Normal University, where she obtained a Bachelor of Arts in 1980. She continued her studies at the Manhattan School of Music, earning a Master of Music in 1984. She has received numerous awards and accolades throughout her career. She was a participant in the Merola Opera Program of San Francisco Opera and was an Adler Fellow with this company. She was the second prize winner for the Female Voice division at the International Concours de Chant de Paris in 1990.
