Suzanne Deats, Artist and Writer, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Artists for dedication, achievements, and leadership in fine arts.
Ms. Deats’ interest in art stems from an early age, and as she got older, her interest combined with her ability to think and write eloquently manifesting in a career as an artist and as a writer. She began displaying her art in 1973, and remained a prominent figure in galleries for nearly three decades. Her art has been displayed in exhibitions and galleries across the United States and Japan. In 1980, Ms. Deats began writing about art and has thus remained an integral member of the arts writing community. She has authored and co-authored a number of works. In 1981, Ms. Deats earned a Bachelor of Arts in fine arts from the University of New Mexico.
Ms. Deats has authored such works as “Evelyne Boren, A Retrospective” in 2018, “Contemporary Native American Artists” in 2012, “Running Rabbit: The Work of Kevin Red Star” and “Evelyne Boren.” In addition, she has co-authored a myriad of works, including “Peace” in 2020, “New Mexico Landscapes” in 2006, “Western Traditions” in 2005 and “Santa Fe Design” in 1990. Her skills and expertise in the art world have resulted in serving as a juror for the Museum of the Southwest, the Main Street Show in Fort Worth, Texas and the Santa Fe Art Festival. She maintains membership with Mensa International and endeavors to continue writing and publishing work in the future.
