Carol Lennart Reed, Composer and Teacher, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Artists for dedication, achievements and leadership in piano.
Possessing an expressive playing style, Ms. Reed has been a composer since 2008 and taught piano since 2009. She began her professional career as a school teacher within the Sumner-Bonney Lake School District, where she remained for 30 years. Additionally, she was a real estate professional in Ocean Shores, Washington, for 13 years and a church organist for a decade. Prior to the start of her career, she pursued a formal education at Washington State University, where she attained a Bachelor of Arts in music education in 1958. Ms. Reed has made about four different CDs and performed in numerous concerts throughout her career. She additionally raised money at a concert given by her and her colleagues, under the name “Carol Reed and Friends,” to benefit the Sumner Community Food Bank in April 2017.
Outside of her primary trade, Ms. Reed maintains involvement with many organizations related to her field. She is affiliated with the Puyallup Valley Chapter of the Washington State Music Teachers Association, the Mount Rainer music chapter of the Music Teachers National Association, the P.E.O. Sisterhood and the United Methodist Church. In light of all of her achievements, Ms. Reed was named Teacher of the Year in 1970 and among the Outstanding Teachers of America in 1975. She was further named American Woman Composer of the Year by the National Federation of Music Clubs and received the Real Estate Top Producer Award. Moving forward, she plans to continue teaching piano. She cannot imagine herself not being involved.
