Title: Artist, Painter
Location: Boyertown, Pennsylvania, United States
Midge Stires, a Painter, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Artists for dedication, achievements, and leadership in art.
Growing up, Ms. Stires showed a particular fondness for painting as early as elementary school. Upon graduating high school, she attended Syracuse University and earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts in 1966. Soon thereafter, she met her husband Peter, who taught at the Pennsylvania Fine Arts Academy, where she had the opportunity to hone her artistic skills a bit more. It was also her husband’s teachings that helped her out, as he knew more about realistic works.
Throughout her career, Ms. Stires work has been featured in galleries around the United States. Between 1975 and 1977, she was featured in group exhibitions at the Christopher Gallery in New York City. Her works would later be displayed at the Hennock Gallery in New York, the Riverside Gallery in New Jersey, and the New Arts Program in Pennsylvania from 1983 to 1994. More recently, Ms. Stires creations have been shown at the Allentown Art Museum and was included in the ‘Best of Landscape Paintings,” in 2000.
What separates Mrs. Stires from other artists is that her art is directed at the old aesthetics that go back to the renaissance era. She also places a heavy emphasis on the beauty in the world, mainly nature. Of her many achievements in the field, Ms. Stires is proud of winning the Landscape and Sunlight Award at the National Academy of Design. In the near future, she hopes to participate and win an art show hosted by the National Society of Painters in Casein and Acrylic.
