Title: Artist, Inventor
Company: Head Light Company
Location: Brooklyn, New York, United States

Louise Simonelli, Artist and Inventor at Head Light Company, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Artists for dedication, achievements, and leadership in visual arts and innovation.

A natural creative, Ms. Simonelli was drawn to the visual arts as a young child and began to develop her abilities in a variety of two- and three-dimensional media by the time she was in high school. She pursued post-secondary fine arts education before transferring to the John Jay College of Criminal Justice, where she completed an Associate of Arts degree. Despite her impressive portfolio of drawings, paintings, and sculptural works, Ms. Simonelli felt called to become a law enforcement officer and spent the next 12 years of her career as a police officer, private bodyguard, and security contractor.

Ms. Simonelli’s career in law enforcement came to an end when complications from a sudden accident sustained on the job resulted in the loss of one of her legs. In search of a new career path, Ms. Simonelli returned to her first passion and established the Head Light Company to consolidate and market her creative works. She describes herself as “an artist first,” and found inspiration in her return to studio practice. Not content to simply focus on aesthetics, Ms. Simonelli is the inventor of several devices and processes, one of which was granted a United States patent.

Currently, Ms. Simonelli is in the design stages of another invention which she hopes to eventually bring to market. She is an active member of the Women’s Leadership Association, a professional organization created to empower and inspire female professionals to excel across industries, who have honored her with their Family Career Community and Donator of the Year awards. Ms. Simonelli credits her success to her flexibility and iconoclastic thinking, and summarizes her philosophy as “Believe in God, be honest, never be mean, and never stop learning.”
