Joan Karen Gaut, Private Music Teacher at Make A Joyful Noise Music Studio, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Artists for dedication, achievements, and leadership in music education.
Growing up in a small town, Ms. Gaut was exposed to music through her church choir and school music lessons. Taking her passion and making it into her career, today she serves as a private music teacher with Make A Joyful Noise Music Studio. Additionally, since 2016, she had been a trustee of the Fairfield-Suisun School Board, where she had previously taught music for 30 years up until her official retirement. Ms. Gaut had also been a theater lobby manager at Solano Community College, as well as a school nurse for two years. Finding great success throughout her path, she was named Teacher of the Year by the Fairfield Union Teacher’s Association for the 2008-2009 school year. She has also taken home a Women of the Year Award and Volunteer of the Year Award. She attributes her success to hard work and caring for other people.
Outside of her music career, Ms. Gaut received a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Chico State University in 1965. She had also studied public health nursing at Sacramento State University and life teaching at Saint Mary’s University. Presently, Ms. Gaut holds membership with the Fairfield-Suisun Unified Teachers Association, Fairfield-Suisun Arts Council, Salon Choral Society, Fairfield Civic Theater, Fairfield-Suisun Rotary Association and California Teachers Association. Amongst her civic engagements, she is president of Music for Our Children and involved with the Solano County Arts Alliance, Solano College Theater Association, Harvard Theater, Crock Center Salvation Army, Pedals for Protein and Heifer International. Looking toward the future, Ms. Gaut would like to travel the world and go down the rivers through beautiful towns of Austria, as well as hear the songs that composers wrote down the Musical Cathedral.
