Shelly Renee Turner, Owner, Interior Designer and Artist at Canter Lane Creatives, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Artists for dedication, achievements, and leadership in interior design.
With a love for drawing since her youth, Ms. Turner brought her talents to Colorado State University, where she earned a Bachelor of Science in interior design with an emphasis in green building and architectural design. She commenced her career by having a kitchen design built for Southern Accents Magazine in 2006 and providing the architectural design for a custom log home in Oklahoma. Her career continued in designing restaurant interiors throughout California, then branching out to eDesign and ultimately forming her business. Today, she excels as the owner, interior designer and artist of Canter Lane Creatives based in North Carolina. Since 2016, she has taken on projects from Las Vegas to the Carolinas, offering traditional and online design solutions and aesthetic ranges for all project needs from modern farmhouse to mid-century eclectic and traditional eclectic. Likewise, she has worked closely with mentor architects, designers and engineers, thus understanding the needs of projects of various scope and scale.
Finding great success throughout the course of her career, Ms. Turner was named to the Spoonflower Top 10 and Top 100 Winning Print Patterns, Pattern Design and Illustrative Artwork in 2019 and 2020. In addition, Interior Design Projects of the Carolinas awarded her first place for kitchen in 2019, second place for bathroom in 2019, Excellence in Design and Visual Communications in 2007 and Kitchen of the Year in 2006. Ms. Turner has also received the Best of Houzz Service and Design Award in 2017 and 2018, respectively, and Pattern Design and Illustrative Artwork selected her holiday card design in 2015. Her work can also be found in HGTV Online and Pinehurst Living. Ms. Turner attributes her success to perseverance in the face of adversity, as well as a supportive family and mentors from her educational and design community at large. Presently, she maintains affiliation with the American Society of Interior Designers, Interior Design Society, National Kitchen and Bath Association and Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators. In five years’ time, she hopes to write a children’s book and grow her custom line of fabric prints, wallpapers and more.
