Ms. Wood is a celebrated fine artist and designer best known for her textile and wallpaper design and her Magical Realist oil paintings of classic cars, dogs, and the California lifestyle. Born in Great Crosby, England, Ms. Wood earned diplomas with 1st Class honors from both Manchester College and the Royal College of Art in London before being awarded a Fulbright scholarship to attend the Parsons School of Design. She traveled to New York on the Queen Mary and worked as a graphic designer while completing postgraduate study at Parsons, where she was awarded her degree in 1963.

From the 1960s through 1984, Ms. Wood found success in textile and wallpaper design, working for Rasch Tapeten Fabrics of Osnabruck, Germany, in addition to a thriving freelance career. She has been a lecturer at institutions including the Farnham College of Art, the Central College of Art in London, and Claremont College, turning her attention to her painting in recent years. Ms. Wood has been commissioned several times by the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance, with work auctioned for charity and represented in the permanent collections of galleries across the country including the Sherry Frumkin Gallery, the Bruce Lewin Gallery, David Klein Art Gallery and the Mullin Automotive Museum. She is a member of the Automotive Fine Art Society and has been included in group shows at the Grace Museum, the Bakersfield Museum of Art, and the Butler Institute, among dozens of others. Ms. Wood has been featured in several prior editions of Who’s Who in America and has been the recipient of numerous awards for both her scholarship and artwork, most recently the 2015 Women’s Automotive Association International Spirit of Leadership Award and the 2009 Peter Helck Award.
