Brett Mistak, Artist and Gallery Owner at Brett Mistak Art, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Artists for dedication, achievements, and leadership in art and veterinary services.
A third-generation artist, Mr. Mistak commenced his artistry during his formative years in his hometown of Maryville, Tennessee. In 2000, he attained a Bachelor of Art in fine art from Carson-Newman University and quickly received requests for his first commissioned work. Today, Mr. Mistak specializes in utilizing oils for his wildlife-focused art but also enjoys portraits, still life and contemporary pop art. Taking ahold of his gift and passion, he spearheaded Brett Mistak Art Gallery in 2019, which features an open design, casual atmosphere and artwork featured in all kinds of sizes and media. Essentially, his love of the Appalachian Mountains, fly-fishing and a strong history of artists and crafters, led to his decision to open his gallery in The Peaceful Side of the Smokies, Townsend, Tennessee.
Alongside his career in the art realm, Mr. Mistak has excelled as a field sales representative for Covetrus, a global animal-health company, since 2004. Working in a territory in eastern Tennessee, he services veterinary clients by supplying pharmaceuticals, supplies, equipment and technology, of which he was named Sales Representative of the Year on three occasions for his efforts. Likewise, he was featured on the cover of the American Veterinary Medical Association Magazine. Mr. Mistak’s love for animals dates back to his time as scuba instructor in the Cayman Islands and as a dog musher in Alaska. He was also an offensive lineman for the Carson Newman Eagles. Looking ahead, Mr. Mistak aims to continue building his portfolio, entering art competitions and working to grow his studio to become a destination where people are coming to find him as opposed to unexpectedly discovering a gem.
