Lisa Collado, Independent Visual Artist, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Artists for dedication, achievements, and leadership in fine art painting and collage.

Ms. Collado is an independent visual artist celebrating more than 25 years of exhibiting her work in group and solo shows throughout the United States and Europe. Best-known for her multimedia collage pieces based on found photographs, original oil on canvas paintings, and three-dimensional textural items, Ms. Collado has developed a unique collage process that highlights the contrast and visual texture inherent in the medium. Since childhood, Ms. Collado felt a calling to the arts. Before beginning her fine arts practice, she earned a Bachelor of Arts in comparative literature from Harvard University and she would later pursue a Master of Arts from New York University, concentrating her study on the work of contemporary women artists.

Recent exhibitions of Ms. Collado’s work include group shows at Arizona State University, the Karpeles Manuscript Library Museum, the Cathedral Center for the Arts, and multiple shows at the Galerie Pro Arte Kasper in Morges, Switzerland. Ms. Collado is a member of the board of the Association of Women Artists and is active in the National Collage Society and the American School Counselor Association. She is the recipient of the Adolph and Esther Gottlieb Foundation Award and the Jackson Pollock Award, highly selective grants recognizing visual artists with a mature style and a singular creative voice. Ms. Collado’s philosophy of practice is that “art is there to make you happy,” and she considers the highlight of her career to have been having the opportunity to help several artists rediscover their inspiration and dedication to their creative practice. She attributes her success to her passion for her work and the ongoing joy that it sparks in her, and looks forward to continuing her practice for as long as she is able.
