Janet Ruth Logan, a retired Art Specialist at Irvine Unified School District, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Artists for dedication, achievements, and leadership in figure painting.

Having drawn inspiration from the example of her parents, who imbued within her a love for drawing and painting, Ms. Logan earned a Bachelor of Arts in fine arts education at Fresno State University in 1966. Following this accomplishment, she took postgraduate coursework with Otis Parsons School Design in Los Angeles from 1981 to 1986 and in Paris from 1982 to 1983. Continuing with her education, Ms. Logan received a Master of Arts in studio art at New York University in 1989.

In a career suffused with highlights, Ms. Logan is most proud of the success of her art galleries, as well as the success of her students. She began her career in 1966 as an arts and crafts teacher at Kings Canyon Junior High School. From 1969 until 1971, Ms. Logan held the same position with the Nueva Vista Continuation School, after which she joined the staff at Smedley Junior High School and served between 1971 and 1973.

In 1974, Ms. Logan became a freelance designer for Chelsea Designs, and later worked as a commercial artist with Pacific Flyway Editions from 1984 until 1990, Toluca Lake Galleries from 1984 to 1991 and Zola Fine Art from 1984 to 1993. In 1987, she earned distinction as an art education instructor with California State University until 1993. Alongside those positions, Ms. Logan also maintained involvement as an art specialist with Irvine Unified School District from 1977 until her retirement in 2001, during which time she also served as a commercial artist with Artful City.

As an artist, Ms. Logan has exhibited her work in numerous galleries, including Palazzo Pema in Venice, Italy, Art Expo in New York and Los Angeles and the Washington Square East Galleries. Her art has been shown in permanent collections at Hilton Hotel locations in Nevada and California, at the Sheraton Hotel in Connecticut, and the Trump Castle Hotel and Casino locations in New Jersey and California. As a testament to her success, Ms. Logan was named as an Outstanding Fine Arts Educator by Irvine Unified School District in 1989.
