Allison Ann Zito, Artist and Art Educator, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Artists for dedication, achievements, and leadership as an artist and instructor.
In preparation for her career in the arts, Ms. Zito attended the Moore College of Art from 1978 to 1980, and additionally graduated from the Philadelphia College of Art, now the University of the Arts, with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in 1984. In 1992, she studied at the Philadelphia College of Textiles and Science. Presently, Ms. Zito works as a teaching artist with CraftStudies at the Hanover League of New Hampshire Craftsmen, as well as with the Alliance for the Visual Arts Gallery and Art Center in Lebanon, New Hampshire, having previously served in the same role with ArtisTree in South Pomfret, Vermont.
From 2014 until 2016, Ms. Zito contributed her expertise as the art coordinator for the City of Claremont, New Hampshire’s Parks and Recreation Department. Furthermore, between 2013 and 2014, she found success as the activities director with the Elm Wood Center, a therapeutic facility managed by Genesis HealthCare.
Ms. Zito has garnered years of experience as an art handler, conservator, exhibitor, artist, art teacher, weaver, illustrator and gallery director, among other positions. She has served as the shop lead and teacher in the fibers department of Claremont Maker Space since 2018, and was the artist-in-residence at Taller Puertorriqueño in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, in 2004. In addition to her artistic endeavors, Ms. Zito has contributed as a volunteer with TeamChildren for a decade, and a former board member of Claremont’s 250th Anniversary Committee in 2014. An Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award Recipient, Ms. Zito has also been named as a fellow of the Pennsylvania Council on the Arts.
