Jenik Esterm Simonian Cook, Independent Artist, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Artists for dedication, achievements, and leadership in art and education.
With an extensive portfolio of drawings, figuratives, abstracts, sculpture, pottery and giclee, Ms. Cook is renowned as an abstract-expressionist. Harboring a love for art since childhood, she has studied under Dr. Alex Vilumsons, Jake Lee and Chalita Robinson. Furthermore, she has studied with Hossein Delrish in Iran and Barbara Lae in Scotland. She began her career as an art teacher with Every Woman’s Village from 1964 to 1979.
Prior to her career as an artist, Ms. Cook obtained a nursing degree from New End Hospital in London and excelled as a registered nurse from 1961 to 1963. For her contributions in the field of art, she is honored to have been presented with the Excellence Award from the Seyhoun Gallery, the True Face of Leonardo DaVinci Prize for the Arts, the Michelangelo Award, the Martin Luther King Human Rights Award, the Showcase Award from ArtSlant and multiple American Art Awards. A celebrated Marquis listee, she is proud to have been a recipient of the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award. Moreover, revered art critic Peter Franks has described her style as “coherent and personal as a signature.” Looking to the future, she aims to continue to direct and guide aspiring artists.
