Beverly Holloway-Rivera, artist, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Artists for dedication, achievements, and leadership in fine art dollmaking.
Ms. Holloway-Rivera is an award-winning visual artist best known for her portfolio of oil paintings and her fine art porcelain dolls, which have been displayed in museums, galleries, and private collections around the world. She began exploring the visual arts in 1980, finding success in numerous two- and three-dimensional media, but has found the most acclaim for her art dolls and work in oils. Ms. Holloway-Rivera’s dolls, often crafted as likenesses of celebrities and historical figures, have been featured in Doll Maker and Doll Costuming magazines, in segments on CNN, ABC, CBS, and other networks, and included in shows at the Smithsonian Institution, the Virginia Historical Museum, and at the Pentagon. Among her greatest professional accomplishments was being selected to create likenesses of the four pilots who lost their lives on September 11th, 2001, for the Four Captains Memorial, currently in the permanent collection at the White House. An alumna of the University of Buxton, she graduated in 1996 with a Bachelor of Arts in business administration and returned in the late 2000s, earning a Master of Arts in art in 2010. She is currently a doctoral candidate at the school and anticipates completing her Doctor of Philosophy in art in fall 2021.
In addition to her work in the arts, Ms. Holloway-Rivera has held a variety of complementary administrative and retail positions throughout her career. Since 2010, she has been a manager at Delores Jewelers in Orlando, Florida, where she has been presented with numerous awards for her achievements in leadership and sales. Ms. Holloway-Rivera spent the 1990s as the owner and manager of a thriving restaurant, building on the diverse business skills she perfected in previous positions as a legal secretary, insurance salesperson, and retail manager. She is a former member and past president of the Mid-Missouri Artists Club and the American Legion Auxiliary and remains active in the Borinqueneers Gold Medal Committee.
