Robert O. Trondsen has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Artists for dedication, achievements, and leadership in landscape painting.
Mr. Trondsen began his career in the 1960s after graduating from the State University of New York with a Bachelor’s degree in advertising, art, and design. Inspired by a lifelong passion for design, he recalls that he “never thought of doing anything other than art,” describing himself as “born with a crayon in his hand.” For the first two decades of his career, he focused on commercial art and design as a freelance artist in the New York City advertising industry. His early fine art pieces were largely still lifes, shifting over time to landscapes informed by the Hudson Valley school of painters.
Mr. Trondsen is represented by the Mark Gruber Art Gallery and Albert Shahinian Fine Arts, and his work has been included in group and solo shows throughout the Northeastern United States. He was selected to participate in the United States Art in Embassies project, and several of his pieces were shown at the United States Embassy in Hong Kong. He credits his success to hard work and a sense of constant experimentation that has allowed his work to develop throughout his career. Mr. Trondsen looks forward to focusing on his health and continuing to paint in the coming years.
