She has created over 2,000 pieces for the Pala Casino Spa and Resort, California, and over 1,500 for the Tropicana Las Vegas.
Ms. Nelson has sold her pieces at the Tamara Nelson Art Gallery with locations in Newport Beach and Laguna Beach since 2015. Attributing her success to her parents, both also very creative people, for being the main mentors of her life, Ms. Nelson first became interested in art at age six. After initially working as an actress and model, she came into contact with the hospitality industry through her husband, a manufacturer’s representative, and her art came to the attention of successful and famed hotels.
Considering her most notable achievement to be her recognition as a two-time winner of Best Gallery as well as Best Mixed Media Artist in Laguna Beach, Ms. Nelson also cites the 2015 opening of her gallery, which is included in the once per month Art Walk in the Laguna Beach area in which 300 to 450 people come to meet her and talk about their art and their journey with art and through which she is able to meet enthusiasts from around the world. In the coming years, Ms. Nelson hopes to travel more to seek out and expand representation within New York, Australia, and the United Kingdom. She also would like to continue mentoring other emerging artists and to broaden her market globally and is pursuing a community outreach program for the disabled.
