Title: Artist and Author
Location: Boynton Beach, Florida, United States
Richard J. McCrohan, Artist and Author, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Artists for dedication, achievements, and leadership in fiction writing.
After excelling as an optician from 1969 to 2011, Mr. McCrohan became a successful author and artist, publishing 13 novels including “The Pitman Family Trilogy,” “What Waits Beneath,” “The School Bus,” “Salvation Mountain,” The “Pandora” Series, “Dead to the World” and “Quarantine.” His painted works hang in private and corporate collections in the United States, Europe and South Africa. A karate competitor in the Pan American Games in 1974, he has been a prolific artist and a black belt karate Sensei and instructor for more than 30 years.
Mr. McCrohan attributes his success to his dedication. Returning to painting in 1990, he began drawing as a child and missed doing it during his years as an optician and a karate instructor. He has always been an avid reader, fascinated by authors and books, and decided to challenge himself by writing a novel also. After retiring as an optician, he wrote his first book, “Pandora.” The highlight of Mr. McCrohan’s career is his book, “The Pittman Family Trilogy,” his best-selling book that has received good critical reviews and is under consideration to be made into a television show, podcast or a movie.
