Title: Sculptor and Potter
Location: Bluffton, South Carolina, United States
Carolyn M. Goyette, Sculptor and Potter, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Artists for dedication, achievements, and leadership in humanities instruction and art production.
Dr. Goyette obtained a master’s degree in 1968 and a Doctor of Education in 1995 from Wayne State University in Detroit. For nearly four decades, she provided superior service as a teacher in humanities. She had always been interested in arts as a child and when she later finished her master’s and doctoral degree, she decided to teach humanities, which included everything in the arts such as architecture, writing, history, and various avenues of art.
When she was 28 years old and finishing her master’s degree, she was introduced to Ferenc Varga, a Hungarian sculptor from France. She decided to work in a studio situation and spent seven years on weekends working in Mr. Varga’s studio to learn the craft of sculpting. She has succeeded in selling and exhibiting her work as a sculptor since 1971 and added pottery to her craft in 1998.
In the coming years, Dr. Goyette would like to stay connected with her sculpture and pottery. She still has a few pieces available that she would like to sell and is also open to helping other artists as a mentor.
