David Henderson, Artist at DF Henderson Fine Art, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Artists for dedication, achievements, and leadership in landscape and still life painting.

Following obtaining a Bachelor of Fine Arts in painting from Boston University in 1976, Mr. Henderson excelled as an illustrator, working for three decades for advertisers, publishers, corporate clients and the cinema and working for an ink factory for a time. He additionally prospered as owner of an antiques store, specializing in restoring treasured artifacts and in stained glass.

After deciding to concentrate on oil paintings, Mr. Henderson has specialized in landscape paintings and still life paintings inspired by inspired by light, land, and changes of the seasons, which he shows and distributes on the website DF Henderson Fine Art  (http://www.dfhendersonfineart.com/). In 2015, his landscape works showing the changing seasons in his native Noonton, New Jersey, were collected in his book, “Seasons: The Intimate Landscape.”

Mr. Henderson has been an artist for almost four decades because of his enduring fascination for art. He grew up in a family that engaged in artistic work as a hobby. His mother, who lived to be 100 years of age, would often sketch as he sat next to her at the dining room when he was a child. Mr. Henderson’s two older brothers were likewise creative in all kinds of ways. His interest in art was fanned by projects like sculpting throughout his years in elementary school, relishing every opportunity to work with his hands.

Mr. Henderson is especially proud of his 1999 painting, “Boonton in Winter,” which he did for a Christmas Card as a fundraiser for the Boonton Township’s arts group and the Boonton Historical Society and Museum, finding inspiration from a part of the town that people used to call “city on a hill.” What he considers to be accolade is running into a client or a buyer in a gallery and seeing them take his work home with them
