Lura Maiman-Beckford, missionary, artist and author at Jewish Outreach International, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Artists for dedication, achievements, and leadership in art.
Ms. Maiman-Beckford is a missionary, artist and author with Jewish Outreach International and a former member of the Armed Forces, serving in the United States Air Force from 1963 to 1965. She completed an art program through the Harrisburg Area Community College in Pennsylvania to hone her art skills. In 2020, she co-authored “Stop Doing Good: A Love Story,” published by Covenant Books.
Ms. Maiman-Beckford is active with the Calvary Chapel Church and is also a Bible teacher. She volunteers her time with Veterans Food Bank and Vietnam Veterans of America. She started her own chess and Bible shop in Israel along with her husband, a tale she relates in her 2020 novel. She plans to travel to Israel again in the near future and will continue her missionary and charitable works at home in the U.S. She painted several murals throughout Israel while living there and her artwork has been displayed in libraries, churches and senior homes.
