Douglas Michael Mercer, Award-winning Author with Douglas Mercer LLC and Senior Adjunct Professor at Atlantic Cape Community College, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Artists for dedication, achievements, and leadership in the field of writing.
Having made a powerful impact on the world as a substance abuse and drug addiction counselor for nearly 40 years, Mr. Mercer is applying his expertise toward writing his third book. He is the author of “The Authorities: Powerful Wisdom from Leaders in the Field” and a contributing writer in “Postulate Like a Pro: How to Use the Spiritual Universe to Get What You Want,” both published in 2021.
A master’s level psychologist, Mr. Mercer has been teaching college students how to become counselors since 2011. Additionally, Mr. Mercer is a counselor at The Southwest Council, Inc. and serves as a lead counselor II at Atlantic County Department of Human Services, where he has held various leadership counseling positions for the last 27 years.
Mr. Mercer is currently pursuing a doctorate degree in clinical psychology from Walden University. Previously, he earned a master’s in psychology from the aforementioned university in 2021, as well as a master’s of administrative science at Fairleigh Dickinson University. Earlier, he attained a bachelor’s in psychology from Union Institute & University and an associate’s from Atlantic Cape Community College. Mr. Mercer counts “Chicken Soup for the Soul” author Jack Canfield as one of his many inspirational mentors.
