Bernice E. Muyskens Meagor, Pianist at the Alameda Christian Reformed Church, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Artists for dedication, achievements, and leadership in musical performance, directing, and education.
Ms. Meagor has served as a pianist for the Alameda Christian Reformed Church since 2020, before which she was a music director for the Castro Valley United Methodist Church from 1994 to 2020. For eight years, she shared her talents as an organist with Richmond’s First Baptist Church in California. She spent an additional eight years as an English teacher at both an elementary and high school level and four years as an organist and choir leader for the American Baptist Church in Moraga, California. Ms. Meagor was also assistant to the president of the Berkeley School of Theology.
In preparation for her career, Ms. Meagor attended Hope College in Holland, Michigan, graduating in 1960 with a bachelor’s degree in English and music. She earned a Master of Theology from the Berkeley School of Theology in 1992 and is a certified public school teacher. For her accomplishments, she received a Special Appreciation Award in 2008, an award of Appreciation for Outstanding Leadership in Ministry of Music in 2002, and a Jessie Dave Drexler Scholarship Award for Outstanding Competence in the Field of Bible and Theology from the American Baptist Seminary of the West. Ms. Meagor attributes her success to having a good relationship with the pastors of the churches she played in, and in the coming years, she hopes to continue playing at the Alameda Christian Reformed Church.
