Michael Viktor Butler, Director & Founder at La Vita Nuova, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Artists for dedication, achievements, and leadership in publishing and the arts.
With more than 45 years of experience to his credit, Mr. Butler has excelled as the director and founder of La Vita Nuova Press since 2007, a position in which he prepares and publishes books and multimedia works. He previously served as an instructor for Syracuse University from 1976 to 1979 and University of California Los Angeles from 1982 to 1986. In addition to his primary responsibilities, he found success with his written works, having authored such published works as “Moon of the Mahatma Dons: An Erotic Novel of Forbidden Ecstasy” in 2008, “The Kahdavva” in 2011, “A Treasury of American Heart-Aches” in 2012, “The Gay American Classic HEYDAY” in 2012, “The Fatal Rendezvous” in 2013 and “The Blue Obsidian Scarab” in 2021. Beginning his career in the arts at the age of 14, having grown up in the foreground of the rise of LGBT voices in popular culture, Mr. Butler is currently in the midst of completing his latest book, “Enchantment: A Gentleman’s Romance.”
Before embarking on his professional path, Mr. Butler pursued an education at Mark Hopkins College, completing coursework in English literature in 1965. Having additionally refined his knowledge through coursework at the University of Vermont, he subsequently obtained an honorary degree from Syracuse University in 1976. As a testament to his exceptional endeavors, he has been presented with a New York Book Award as well as the 2010 Ariel Towson Arliss Award. Attributing his success to his temerity and integrity as well as the influence of the five women he credits with raising him, Mr. Butler hopes to assemble a legacy project for the Library of Congress and submit his work to publishers and agents in the United Kingdom.
