Since 2020, Ms. Barton has excelled as the owner of Pat Barton Prints, where she sells her visual art and prints. In her position, she focuses on producing the artwork and maintaining the business. She considers running her own business the highlight of her career and is proud of her artwork’s impact on others. Ms. Barton doesn’t see her work as just pretty images or a means to make money; instead, she aims to make a difference in people’s lives. She believes her success is due to her stubbornness, persistence and commitment.
Ms. Barton holds a master’s degree from Oral Roberts University. Prior to her current position, she was the arts director for the Children’s World Learning Centers and an artist with Three Penny Press. Among her career accomplishments, she was named Most Outstanding Staffer of the Year by the Houston Chronicle. To keep abreast of her field, Ms. Barton is a member of the Burning Bones Press, Print Matters Houston, the Los Angeles Printmaking Society and the Mid-America Print Council. In the coming years, she hopes to have a studio and a gallery where she can produce her work and showcase both her pieces and other artists’ work. Ms. Barton’s husband is a musician, so she hopes to incorporate music into her gallery and offer a space for poetry reading.
