John William Stanley, Retired Author at Creatures at Large Press, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Artists for dedication, achievements, and leadership in writing.

Now retired, Mr. Stanley was an author with Creatures at Large Press. Growing up, he loved movies and attended his local theater with his father. This creative inspiration culminated in his career as an author. Among his published works, Mr. Stanley is proudest of “The Creature Features Movie Guide” series, in which he reviewed hundreds of films and covered the history of the horror and science fiction genres.

In 2021, Mr. Stanley published “The Career That Dripped with Horror.” He also wrote “The Gang That Shot Up Hollywood” in 2011, “I Was a TV Horror Host” in 2007, “Bogart Forty Eight” in 1980, “Viva Knievel!” in 1977 and “World War III” in 1976. In recognition of his professional achievements, he was inducted into the Horror Host Hall of Fame.

Mr. Stanley prepared for his career by studying at multiple institutions. After graduating from Napa Valley High School, he completed coursework at Napa Junior College. Mr. Stanley later completed coursework at San Francisco State University.

Mr. Stanley attributes his success to his father, who passed on his love for movies. Throughout his career, he feels he has achieved most of his professional goals. In his spare time, Mr. Stanley enjoys traveling.
