Walt Edward Hines, Creative Director at WaltHinesDesign.net, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Artists for dedication, achievements, and leadership in the visual arts.

With more than 40 years of experience to his credit, Mr. Hines has excelled as the creative director for WaltHinesDesign.net since 2007. During this time, he was additionally active as an associate professor at Indian River State College between 2007 and 2021. Mr. Hines previously served as an adjunct faculty member and a gallery director for Palm Beach State College from 2004 to 2007 and an adjunct graphic design faculty member in the department of art and art history at the University of Miami from 2001 to 2003.

Mr. Hines began his career as an associate professor at Northern Illinois University from 1980 to 1993, a tenure during which he was recruited as a design consultant for the Big Ten Conference from 1986 to 1993. He subsequently worked as a design manager for Executive Sports from 1993 to 1995, a senior art director for the Physician Corporation of America from 1995 to 1998 and the senior art director for Watson Publications from 1998 to 2001. Outside of his primary responsibilities, Mr. Hines found success as a logo designer for the Al Potvin Family Foundation as well as former Miami Dolphins quarterback Dan Marino.

Before embarking on his professional path, Mr. Hines pursued an education at West Virginia University, from which he earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts in 1970. He continued his academic efforts at the aforementioned university with a Master of Fine Arts in 1973. Following these accomplishments, Mr. Hines concluded his studies at the University of Miami in 1980, graduating with a Master of Fine Arts in graphic design.

Attributing his success to his stellar work ethic, which was ingrained in him by his parents, Mr. Hines’ design work in Indian River Magazine and Tom Kindred was ultimately honored by River State College with recognition as Florida’s Best New Magazine in 2010. He is also proud to have designed multiple magazines for the World Golf Championships. Furthermore, he has been affiliated with the Treasure Coast chapter of the American Advertising Federation, the American Center for Design in Chicago and the American Institute of Graphic Arts, for which he was appointed as a board member. Looking toward the future, Mr. Hines hopes to continue finding interesting projects while making a difference in the lives of others through his work.
